Trying to solve a problem from the end of last season. I've got a 91 Johnny
30. Cranks easy, runs up high RPM really fast. Dies.
Any ideas? The weather is getting nice(NC), got the itch.
Thanks

1. Fuel delivery issue - pump?

2. Thermal intermittant in ignition

Both easily home testable but if I have to walk you through *how* you really
need the boat shop.

Sound like a fuel problem. It has enough in the carbs to start and then the
rpm picks up as it leans out until it runs out of gas. If it' won't start
right away but will after it sits for a few minutes that would tend to
confirm it.

Consider the carb. vent. I created this problem once when I made a new
gasket. Seems like I forgot one tiny hole (which turned out to be an air
vent allowing equalization of pressure in the bowl). If this vent becomes
clogged, the fuel going out creates a vacuum and shuts it down.

Its him...that's what he does. I have over 15 entries for him. Just keep
kill filing the immature boatless liar...he's not worth the time.

Can't be the liar Krause John; got the boating answer right as parody
Krause mostly does:-)

K

& Krause's lie of the day is:

Other than what he's picked up here over the years this liar
clearly doesn't & never has owned a boat & certainly never done any real
boating, yet he insults all the NG real boaters with lies like this;

  > Have you ever sailed from San Francisco to Hawaii? I have.
  > Have you ever rounded Cape Horn? I have, twice.
  > Have you ever transited the Panama Canal? I have.
  > Have you owned more than 20 boats in your lifetime? I have.
  > Have you ever sailed large boats competitively? I have.
  > Have you ever been hundreds of miles from land in a powerboat under
your command? I have.
